A musician who is also funny, "Harping" Mel Rich knows how to put on a good show. More than sixty Dallas comics, storytellers, musicians, and performance artists have taken the stage for one of her Harp On Variety shows.

Although based in Dallas, TX, Melanie has performed across the country. Her full-length variety show fundraiser at the historic Kalita Humphreys Theater raised more than $1.1k for the NEXUS RECOVERY CENTER. Other shows have benefited Amplified Minds and the Alzheimer's Association.

The way she plays autoharp has been developed with a lot of trial and error. "Lefty Lucy" is her reverse-bodied table-top style autoharp mounted on the most industrial snare drum stand available. Playing with the autoharp at an angle allows her to play carefree and pain-free after old injuries.

Her song choices are as unusual as her setup, and you may find yourself surprised and delighted after seeing her perform.
